Our Trip to Detroit, Michigan

Our Trip to Detroit, Michigan

                              DAY 1   (10-11-2019)

On the first day of our yet- to- be- AMAZING trip to Detroit, Michigan. We started to drive to the airport, on the way, me and my brother played an original and fun game of I spy. We were anxious to be at Michigan because we were going to  meet our uncle and aunt !

When we got to the place where we park our car, we paid and parked. We waited for the shuttle bus to come. When it came, we transported our stuff to the bus and sat.

When we got to the airport, we figured that our flight got delayed. But time passed while we went through securityand stuff. We had extra time and we used about half of it walking to the gates. We also had time to eat sugar chapati.

Soon, it was time to board the flight. We were all very excited to see Michigan up north. It was going to be a long fight to the opposite side of the country, we are down south in Georgia. We showed our tickets to a TSA (Transportation Security Agency) agent. He checked it, and we were ready to board.

In the plane, all I did was read a book called “The Big Game” for most of the flight. When we started landing, air pressure dropped. This was my least favorite part. The air started to peirce and sting my ears, I was getting an earache. The worst part is, I couldn’t figure out how to stop it!

Finally, we landed. The earache was weakening and my ears were fine. We walked through the airport to the shuttle bus for rental cars. When it came, we got on and it drove us to Hertz, a place to get rental cars. When we got our new Chevy Traverse, we were ready to go to my uncle’s place

When we got there, we greeted each other. Some time after setting up and talking, it was time to eat. We ate puris. After a good meal, we got ready to sleep.

                              DAY 2   (10-12-2019)

When we woke up in the morning, we had a nice yummy breakfast. Idli and chutney, mmmmm mmmm. Sadly, we were leaving my uncle’s  place that day after driving to downtown with him.

At downtown, first we saw a statue called “The Spirit Of Detroit”. One of the most famous statues in Michigan. We took some pics and started to leave.

After that, we saw the “Monument of Joe Louis”, also known as “The Fist”. This statue represents one of  the best boxers in the world! It was also the fist statue in Detroit!!!

Then, we walked to another statue and saw the border of Michigan and Canada, we also saw downtown Canada from Michigan!!! We didn’t do much at that statue. All we did was roam around for some time.

From there, we went to the “Henry Ford Museum”. There, we saw many Ford cars and we also learned how to make them. We even got a wax car as a souvenir! We also saw trains, big lego towers, and even Ford cars that many presidents rode in, not the model , the REAL CAR!!!

Finally, we went to my uncles place to have dinner. We just ate dinner over there. We ate good paneer pizza. Then, sadly, we had to say goodbye and leave. So we packed up our stuff and left for a long 4-hour night trip to Mackinac Island.

When we got to the hotel at Mackinac Island , we were all very tired. We just wanted to flop down on the bed . So we changed and flopped down on the bed.

                              DAY 3   (10-13-2019)

When we woke up in the morning after a good night’s sleep, we were fresh and ready. We quickly got ready to tour around Mackinac Island. After we were ready, we went down to eat breakfast.

After breakfast, we started driving to“Pictured Rock”. On the way, we passed the “Mighty Mac”it is the longest suspension bridge in the Western Hemisphere. It is also the 4th longest suspension bridge in the world!!!

When we got to “Pictured Rock”, we were very excited to see the view.It has many arches and other things that shape by erosion. These make it look like a bunch of pictures on 15 miles of sandstone cliffs.

Over there, the water below the cliffs is gracefully still . It was a bit steep to climb for the view to be visible, but we could still manage to climb it. It was worth it, because the view was unbelievably AMAZING!!!

After pictured rock, we went to “Tahquamenon Falls”. The water unusually brown. But that made it different than other waterfalls.

It was getting late and we had to leave to drive all the way to Traverse City. So, we settled in the car for a long road trip.

When we were in the car, I slept for the whole time. It was pretty hard to wake up when we got there. But, of course, I did it.

Again, we were all tired . We all wanted to flop on the bed after a long day. After changing, again, we flopped down on the bed .

Our Trip to Detroit, Michigan

                              DAY 4   (10-14-2019)

Sadly, it was our last day in Michigan, so we had to pack everything up and make sure to not leave anything behind . But we still had time to do one more thing. So we ate breakfast and quickly got ready.

We hopped in the car and started driving to “Sleeping Bear Dunes”. The drive there took around 30 minutes.

There, we took pictures and enjoyed our last stop in Michigan. They even had a nice story behind there name and view on signs. We had to hurry up to catch our flight, so we didn’t stay there long.

It was a long drive to the rental car dropoff place. We needed to go there to drop off our rental car. We were going in my uncle’s after dropping our car off. After dropping our car off, my uncle came just in time to pick us up. So we put all of our bags in his trunk and got in. He drove us to the airport and we said bye again

When we boarded the flight we also felt happy to go back home. The flight was taking us back to our home. It was night, so I slept the whole way back.

When we got back to our home sweet home, we got everything out of the car and went in. The smell of home was very calming. Obviously, again, after changing, we flopped down on our beds.
